V.P. Twin Bakelite Camera

The V.P. Twin is a compact vintage film camera manufactured by E. Elliott Limited in Birmingham, England, beginning in the mid-1930s. The name “V.P.” stands for Vest Pocket, reflecting its compact design. Made with a distinctive Bakelite body, this simple camera represents an early era of affordable photography and is an interesting collectible for enthusiasts of antique cameras. The camera uses 127 roll film to produce 16 rectangular photographs measuring approximately 3 × 4 cm. It features a fixed-focus meniscus lens with a fixed aperture, along with a simple mechanical shutter. Its folding wire-frame viewfinder helps users compose their photographs, while two red windows on the back allow them to track film positioning during manual advancement. Some later versions feature a decorative metal faceplate and a BOLCo lens inscription.
